Following today’s matches, all four finalists for the Bracknell Town & District Sunday League cup finals are known writes Darrell Freeland.

In the BTDSL Senior Cup (open to Premier Division & Division One sides), there was an upset this morning as Waverley Rangers overcome Binfield Club Athletic 3-0.

Rangers are currently twelfth (second bottom) in Division One whilst Binfield Club are currently fourth in the Premier Division.

The other semi-final was played on 20th March with Sunningdale & Wentworth defeating fellow Premier Division side Finchampstead Club Athletic 2-0 after extra time.

In the BTSDL Junior Cup (open to Division Two and Division Three sides as well as Division One Reserve teams), Whitegrove had a great win seeing off Golden Farmer Rangers Reserves 3-1.

This could be considered an upset with ‘Grove third in Division Two and Farmer Rangers mid-table in Division One.

The other semi-final was played two weeks ago and Finchampstead Athletic Sunday Reserves defeated Bracknell Royals 3-0.

Only two points and one place separate Whitegrove and Finch Athletic Reserves so the BTSDL Junior Cup Final is too close to call.

That final will be held on Friday 13th May at Bracknell Town’s Larges Lane ground with a 7.45pm kick-off.

One week prior on Friday 6th May, it’s the BTSDL Senior Cup Final (also at Larges Lane) and S&W will start clear favourites but having defeated a Premier Division side in the semi-final, could Waverley do it again in the final?

Premier Division

In league action, FC Fernhill have secured their fourth Premier Division title running after a 4-0 victory over Bracknell Manics gave them an unassailable lead at the top of the table.

Currently on 40 points with two matches remaining, second placed Morale Madrid can get to 35 points whilst third placed Sunningdale & Wentworth can finish on 39 points.

Many congratulations to Fernhill for securing a fourth consecutive Premier Division title.

Division One

Division One leaders Bracknell Celtic did not play today but second placed Braybrooke Athletic continued their push with a 3-2 win over Hurricanes but with a six point cushion at the top, it looks like Celtic will secure the title.

Division Two

In Division Two, it was first against fourth as Wokingham & Emmbrook TMW hosted Berkshire All Stars and it was league leader TMW who ran out comfortable 4-1 winners.

Second placed Finchampstead Athletic Sunday Reserves beat Bracknell Falcons 3-1 whilst third places Whitegrove were in cup action.

So it’s advantage Wokingham & Emmbrook but don’t rule out the second or third places sides especially as W&E face Whitegrove next weekend and have to face Finch on 28th April.

Division Three

In Division Three, it is Bracknell Saint-Germain who set the pace on 52 points and without a match today it meant that Bracknell Athletic could get within three points of Saint-Germain but they were unable to do so as they drew 1-1 with Bracknell Titans. A result with gives Saint-Germain a five point lead at the top.

Crown Wood Dukes look set to finish bottom having played all of their matches. Bracknell Manics Reserves need one more point from their remaining seven matches to avoid coming bottom. Even if they lose all seven matches, they would need a -50 goal difference in those seven matches for Dukes to finish above them.
