Woodley United keep up 100% record and Division 1 East round up

Woodley United were the only FootballinBracknell featured Uhlsport Hellenic League Division One East side to play away from home and they kept up their 100% record to make it three wins from three as they saw off fellow FiB side AFC Aldermaston 2-0.

A goal in each half was enough to secure victory with Danny Horscroft scoring in the first period and Charlie Oakley doing the same after the interval.

Victory sees United move up to fourth place and they could move top by winning their games in hand.

Finchampstead recorded their first league win of the season as they came from a goal down to consign visitors Chalfont Wasps to a 2-1 loss.

All three goals came in the second half with a fine Dave Stevens’ free-kick cancelling out an earlier goal before Rich Thomas headed in an 86th minute winner.

We are not sure who scored the goals but Sandhurst Town had an almighty scare before beating basement side Wantage Town Reserves 3-2 with the Fizzers Twitter account saying it was a late, late show to secure all three points.

Wokingham & Emmbrook had their first home match but fell to a 2-0 loss against last season’s Division One East runners-up Bicester Town who were clinical in front of goal.

Elsewhere, the biggest surprise saw Rayners Lane – who were second bottom – beat then league leaders Headington Amateurs whilst the reigning champions Penn & Tylers Green returned to the top by thrashing Chinnor 7-0, and Holyport lost 4-0 home to Didcot Town Reserves.

The full Uhlsport Hellenic League Division One East results from today:

AFC Aldermaston 0 – 2 Woodley United

Finchampstead 2 – 1 Chalfont Wasps

Holyport 0 – 4 Didcot Town Reserves

Penn & Tylers Green 7 – 0 Chinnor

Rayners Lane 4 – 3 Headington Amateurs

Sandhurst Town 3 – 2 Wantage Town Reserves

Wokingham & Emmbrook 0 – 2 Bicester Town
