Bracknell Town continue Thatcham dominance in Berks & Bucks County Cup

Bracknell Town made it three wins out of three against Hellenic Premier Division leaders Thatcham Town this evening with a 2-1 win in the Berks & Bucks County Senior Trophy.

Playing at their temporary home – Sandhurst Town’s Bottom Meadow – the Robins took a 2-0 lead in the opening half an hour through Seb Bowerman and Adam Cornell before Josh Helmore pulled one back with 13 minutes remaining.

The two sides have met on three occasions this season with Bracknell winning in the league, the FA Cup and now the County Cup.

They will meet again on 19th November in the league with Bracknell the home side.

The result sets up a quarter final with Spartan South Midlands League side Holmer Green – the team that knocked Bracknell out of the competition last season with a comprehensive 4-0 win.

Elsewhere, Ascot United bowed out of the competition in the opening round thanks to a 2-0 defeat at home to Highmoor-IBIS. IBIS will go on to play Flackwell Heath.
