Four time consecutive Bracknell Town & District Sunday League Premier Division champions FC Fernhill hadn’t lost a league match since 10th March 2015 – the final game of the season when Sunningdale & Wentworth beat them 3-2.
That was until Sunday when Premier new boys and current table toppers Bracknell Cavaliers beat them 4-2 at Bracknell Sport Centre.
Cavaliers have come all the way through the divisions with three promotions in the last three seasons.
Cavs finished third in Division 3 in 13/14, fourth in Division 2 in 14/15 and runners up in Division 1 last season.
In contrast with the other sides promoted from Division 1 last season, Braybrooke Athletic are bottom, champions Bracknell Celtic are two places above and Super Reeves have not managed to play a game for the last three matches.
Fernhill have only played five league games this season due to their continued involvement in the Berks & Bucks County Cup but are still well set for a tilt at a fifth consecutive league title despite the defeat to Cavaliers.
Cavaliers can open up some space between themselves and the chasing pack when they visit FC Meta on the final game before the Christmas break on Sunday while Fernhill host Braybrooke.
