In front of a very good Monday night crowd of 289, visitors Bracknell Town beat neighbours Binfield with TJ Bohane’s early goal enough to see the Robins move back to the top of the table.

The two sides had met twice previously this season with the Moles losing both by a single goal and so it proved to be again tonight as Binfield were extremely stubborn and hard-working but they only really troubled Chris Grace’s goal once in the first half.

Twelve minutes in, Bohane had a good chance but pulled his shot which was put out for a corner but the miss mattered not as Bohane scored from the resulting set piece.

Jamie McClurg swung the ball in and Carl Davies knocked it on to Bohane who was able to back-heal it in despite the last ditch attempts to clear from the line.

Liam Ferdinand had a really good chance to level after eighteen minutes when he found himself racing towards goal unchallenged but he could only drag his shot wide of the left hand post.

Back come Bracknell but after Mo Nyamunga made a great save from Bohane, Kensley Maloney’s follow up shot narrowly missed to the left.

It was Maloney’s turn next to be denied by a good Nyamunga save with Gary Smith just clearing the ball from Adam Cornell but injuring himself in the process.

Binfield had a chance in first half stoppage time but Luke Hayden’s drive from out left was straight at Grace for a routine claim.

Half Time: Binfield 0 – 1 Bracknell Town

The second half started with the visitors looking to double their advantage but the home defenders stood firm.

Firstly Alex Luis made a vital block from Bohane before Jeff Brown took one in the face from Seb Bowerman after a nice one-two between Bowerman and Cornell.

In the 75th minute, Bowerman turned provider as he crossed for Bohane but his glancing header went wide right.

The home side tried to get something going and substitute Brad Pagliaroli fired well over from distance before Jon Bennett had an effort deflected for a corner.

Worryingly for Mark Tallentire, Adam Cornell was forced off injured late on to join Joe Grant on the striking injury list but he did see his side claim a vital three points to jump above Thame United and Flackwell Heath once again with those two sides facing each other tonight (Tuesday).

Both sides face trips west this coming Saturday with Binfield travelling to Gloucestershire to face Tuffley Rovers who have a very good home record whilst it’s not quite as far for Bracknell but equally as daunting as Swindon based Highworth Town entertain them.
