Wokingham & Emmbrook held promotion chasing Woodley United at Scours Lane on Saturday afternoon with a battling performance in a 0-0 draw in the Uhlsport Hellenic League Division 1 East.
The Sumas were reduced to 10 men after Jake Bailey was sent off 25 minutes in for a second bookable offence but they held on for a valuable point.
Roger Herridge told us: “Jake Bailey went off after two yellows, the second after an altercation with Matt Jones. Woodley missed good chances in the second half when Wokingham tired but they deserved the draw in my opinion. Sam Whiting was the best player on the pitch and he with Matt Booth worked tirelessly. Danny Horscroft missed a one on one for Woodley who had chances and achipped over an open goal.
Elsewhere AFC Aldermaston did their chances of a top five finish no harm at all with a fine 3-1 win at home to Rayners Lane.
Daniel Alliston, Connor Creegan and Kai Parton-Edey got the goals for the Atomics who handed a debut to 22-year-old forward Matt Brookling.

And finally there was a frustrating afternoon for Sandhurst Town who drew 1-1 with struggling Holyport. Alex Penny getting the goal for the Fizzers.
The postives for Luke Turkington’s men would have been the return of captain Harry Oakley after injury while 17-year-old debutant Josh Maynard was on hand with an assist for Penny’s goal.
