It was an afternoon to forget for Binfield at Woodley United as former striker Ian Davies (pictured) struck twice for the Kestrels to earn Michael Herbert’s side a first ever Hellenic Premier Division three points.

Woodley went in at half time well worth their 3-0 lead thanks to a Davies double sandwiching a Jeff Brown own goal but there were opportunities for the Moles who hit the bar and the post in the opening 45 minutes.

It took a terrific Josh Howell free kick with about 20 minutes left on the clock to spark Binfield in to action but the lack of a protruding foot in the six yard box meant the chances and pressure created came to nothing until Brad Pagliaroli made it 3-2 with minutes left.

Bracknell Town didn’t have it all their own way at Larges Lane – coming from behind twice to eventually beat a stubborn Abingdon United side thanks to goals from Joe Grant, George Short and Jon Bennett with the winner.

Over in Division 1 East there was a first three points of the season for AFC Aldermaston who won 4-0 at home to Chinnor while Virginia Water thumped Henley Town 9-0 at Stag Meadow.
