An Adam Cornell double and a third from Joe Grant ensured Bracknell Town made up ground on their promotion rivals with a 3-1 at Flackwell Heath on Saturday.

The Robins hit back strongly after defeat to Wantage Town in their previous Uhlsport Hellenic Premier Division fixture but lost Justin Clayton to a hamstring injury during the tie and saw Seb Bowerman take a heavy blow to the head, although the young winger did return to the pitch.

Elsewhere Binfield earned an excellent point at Thatcham Town with a 0-0 draw and youngster Owen Powell continuing his fine run in the side – starting and completing 90 minutes in the Moles last three games.

Manager Roger Herridge tweeted after the match: “Proud of my team today, put a great shift in against a good side. Unbeaten in the league for 7 games now. Another clean sheet too.”

Woodley United were beaten 1-0 in Gloucestershire by Lydney Town and Ascot United were beaten 2-1 at home by Brackley Town Saints – James Goodey scoring what was a late consolation goal.
