Crowthorne Inn took the spoils in the Bracknell Town & District Sunday League Premier Division’s table-topper against William Twigg Vets with a 2-0 win in what proved to be a feisty affair. Inn’s goal-scorers were Fraser Scrutton and Liam Forde and the win stretches their lead at the top to 5 points ahead of Twigg who remain 2nd.

Also in the Premier Division Golden Farmer Rangers heaped more woe on Finchampstead Athletic’s lethargic start to the season by defeating the reigning Champions 5-2 at the Finch Memorial Ground. Bracknell Cavaliers got their first win of the season with a 6-4 victory over Morale Madrid who have now conceded 31 goals in their 7 games played.

In the County Intermediate Cup Intercity bowed out losing out 0-2 to Maidenhead Nomads.

The top 3 in Division 1 all won this weekend. Top team WAB defeated Sandhurst FFC 3-1 whilst 2nd placed Raglan had an emphatic 5-2 win away to Ashridge Park. Loveman United remain third with a dominant 6-1 win away to Winkfield and in doing so maintained their 100% record. On the score sheet for Loveman were Lee Blackman (2), Ben Poynter (2), Alfie Sparrow and Perry Roberts. Berkshire All Stars leapfrogged AFC Crowthorne and into 4th position with a 5-3 win against Crowthorne. The other game in the division finished in a win for Hurricanes by 4-2 against Finchampstead Athletic Reserves, struggling to find any form this season.

Warfield United stay top of Division 2 and 7 points clear after their fixture away to 3M was awarded as a walkover. Athletico Ascot remain in 2nd place to maintain the pressure at the top by defeating Newbold College 4-2. Woodley United moved into 3rd with a 4-1 win against Braybrooke Athletic who, with this latest defeat slipped bottom again after Bracknell Saint Germain’s draw by 2-2 with Berks County. Ashridge Park Royals stay 4th with a 3-2 win away to Bracknell Athletic who’s early season form seems to have deserted them.

A number of Bracknell teams played 2nd round ties in the Berks & Bucks Sunday Junior Trophy and Woodley Saints, Bracknell Royals, Winnersh Rangers and Hope & Anchor all progressed to the 3rd round.

In Division 3 Bearwood Wanderers thrashed Berkshire United 8-0 and in doing so consigned United to their 5th straight defeat of the league season. In the only other game played in the division WAB Reserves moved into 2nd by defeating Bracknell Falcons 3-1.

Completing this weekend’s round-up of results, Crownwood Dukes suffered their first defeat of the league season by 2-1 at the hands of newcomers Whitegrove Pythons. Crownwood remain top by one point and have a game in hand over 2nd placed Bracknell Royals.
