As thought when the preview for this weekend’s Bracknell Town & District Sunday League fixtures was penned, many games fell foul to the weather with a total of only 12 played.

In the League Senior Cup Sandhurst FFC, languishing at the foot of Division 1 were beaten 5-2 by FC Fernhill of the Premier Division. FiB understands the other game played in the competition resulted in an extra-time 5-3 victory for Wokingham & Emmbrook TMW over Raglan.

The line-up for the Leagues Junior Cup semi-finals was completed with Newbold College defeating Bracknell Saint Germain 2-1. Newbold join Warfield United, Woodley Saints and Bearwood Wanderers in the hat for the semi-final draw.

The top two in Division 1 both won with WAB hammering Ashridge Park 7-2 and Loveman United beating AFC Crowthorne 3-0 through goals by Ed Jackson-Sankey, Louie Steinborn-Busse and Sean Cahill. WAB stay 10 points clear at the top though Loveman have 4 games in hand and the two meet next weekend. Elsewhere in the division Finchampstead Athletic Reserves secured a much-needed victory by 3-2 against Winkfield.

In Division 2 Athletico Ascot had the chance to make up ground on the top two of Woodley United and Warfield United but could only manage a 2-2 draw with AFC Crowthorne Reseves. Fourth placed Berks County did make some ground themselves with a 5-1 win against Braybrooke Athletic. The other game in the division resulted in a 3-0 win for 3M against Ashridge Park Reserves.

The one game played in Division 3 finished all-square between Bearwood Wanderers and Woodley Saints (2-2). The point takes Woodley top above WAB Reserves on goal difference.

Finchampstead Athletic A moved menacingly into 2nd position in Division 4 after a 4-2 win against Crownwood Dukes. Defeat for Dukes means they can no longer win the title but Finch now face a shoot-out with Silver Birch A and Bracknell Royals for the title with 2 each to play for Birch and Finch and 3 to play for Royals. The top 2 (Brirch and Finch) play each other next weekend. The other game played in the division resulted in a 2-0 win for Whitegrove Pythons over Bracknell Titans.
