Binfield extended their unbeaten run to seven matches on Friday night with a 3-0 win over Woodley United at Hill Farm Lane in the Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division.

The result was a blow for the visitors who won the reverse fixture 3-2 at Scours Lane at the start of the season and leaves James Anderson’s side in 18th place and without a league win since 16th October but they held out against the Moles until half time – only for former striker Ian Davies to break the deadlock on 51 minutes.

Winger Carlo Santoro made it 2-0 three minutes later and Usman Lalustani made it safe on 71 minutes as Binfield continued to cement their place in the top six and continue a remarkable run that has seen them finish eighth or higher every season since 07/08.

Woodley move on to a twice postponed Perpetua Press Floodlit Cup second round tie at home to Windsor on Monday night while Binfield have the unenviable task of a Wednesday night away trip to Gloucestershire to face Bishop’s Cleeve Development in the third round of the same competition. The quarter final draw for the competition is here.
