Bracknell Town notched another win in their quest for the Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division title with a 4-0 win over Longlevens at Larges Lane on Saturday afternoon.

The Robins have 11 games to go in the fight for a place in the top two with Thatcham Town and Highworth Town – who were given a fright by Highmoor Ibis, with a Joe Grant double and a goal each for TJ Bohane and Jamie McClurg enough to see them through.

Bracknell manager Carl Davies got his second fixture under his belt and thanked supporters via twitter after the game for braving the cold weather. He said: “Massive thank you to the supporters that braved the cold today. Wish we could have rewarded you with more goals to keep you warmer! Thanks again and see you Tuesday.”

Binfield manager Roger Herridge was left lamenting a late penalty that saw the Moles lose 3-2 at home to Brimscombe & Thrupp. Ian Davies had opened the scoring (a goal you can see below) on 6 minutes only for the visitors to reply with two of their own.

Centre back Jeff Brown equalised for Binfield only for Brimscombe to be awarded a penalty in the 88th minute. Herridge tweeted: “Didn’t deserve to win today but certainly didn’t deserve to lose either. Good team Brimscombe but don’t get me started on the pen decision in the 88th min . My quietest ,most placid player getting booked for dissent tells you everything you need to know!”

And here’ that Ian Davies opener, a header at the far post.

There was a bit of a shock for Windsor who were beaten 6-2 at previously struggling Fairford Town while there was another postponement for Woodley United to add to the lengthy list of rescheduled matches for the Scours Lane club.
