Quite a night over at Stag Meadow on Tuesday evening as Windsor and Binfield played out a 7 goal thriller (if anyone knows of another cliche we could use when seven goals are scored we’d love to hear it) in the Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division.

Windsor edged it 4-3 and were 2-1 up at half time. Luke Brooks-Smith opened the scoring on 6 minutes from the penalty spot after Tristan Campbell was dismissed for a foul on Jonny Denton.

Denton then made it 2-0 on 22 minutes but Ian Davies pulled one back for Binfield before the break – winning and converting a penalty on the stroke of half time and 10 minutes in to the second half it was all square as Sanchez Commock scored his first goal for the club.

Davies then got his second as the 10 man Moles took the lead for the first time but it was all undone in the final 15 minutes as first Jack Hall and then Matt Stockhill in the final few minutes gave Windsor the three points.

Elsewhere a 36th minute Rob Lazarczuk goal was enough to earn Ascot United three points and simultaneously through to the quarter finals of the Bluefin Sport Hellenic League Supplementary Cup.

The Yellamen beat Brackley Town Saints 1-0 in a match that marked Louis Bouwers 50th senior team appearance for Neil Richards side.

United are due to play Pewsey Vale a week Thursday in the Quarter Finals and are 13 points clear of the bottom four in the Hellenic League Premier Division – though the teams below them do have games in hand.

Over at Scours Lane, Woodley United were beaten 3-1 by Highworth Town as they look to escape the bottom four themselves. The Kestrels were 3-0 down when Toby Bridges netted his first goal for the club.
