Premier Division

Thursday evening saw FC Fernhill make further inroads into the lead held by Crowthorne Inn at the top following a 5-0 win against William Twigg Vets. The win moved Fernhill menacingly into 3rd position and closed the gap on Inn to 10 points with 4 games in hand. The other game played midweek saw Wokingham & Emmbrook TMW suffer their 12th straight league defeat of the season going down 0-3 to Bracknell Cavaliers.

This weekend’s fixtures see FC Fernhill host Golden Farmer Rangers in what will be a rehearsal for the League Cup Final the following week (4th May). Elsewhere, 4th placed FC Meta take on Wokingham & Emmbrook whilst Morale Madrid entertain Bracknell Cavaliers.

Division 1

Thursday evening saw both the top 2 win with WAB defeating Finchampstead Athletic Reserves 4-0 whilst Raglan thumped Winkfield 8-2. The earth will shake in Bracknell on Sunday as the two collide head-to-head in what, for both teams, is a hugely important fixture at this late stage in the season. Both will look for the victory to put another peg in their ground but one would imagine that if the game cannot be settled either way, the draw would most favour Raglan.

Division 2

On Thursday evening Warfield United, smarting from their first league defeat of the season last weekend, moved to within 2 points of leaders Woodley United after a 3-1 win against Bracknell Athletic. Fourth placed AFC Crowthorne Reserves kept up their own challenge with a 4-1 win against Berks County.

The race for league honours in the Division looks set to go down to the wire and any one from 4 could win it as it stands. A win for Warfield United this Sunday against AFC Crowthorne will see them hit the top again having led the table for much of the first-half of the season. Crowthorne will have other ideas though who find themselves right in the mix for a tilt at the title.

Division 3

Despite being held to a 3-3 draw by Silver Birch, whose form during the second half of the season has been impressive, Woodley Saints held on to top spot and lead WAB Reserves by 7 points. WAB won their midweek fixture by 3-1 against Hope & Anchor.

The title could be won this weekend if Woodley Saints were to beat 4th placed Bracknell Corinthians that, on paper, should be a classic. Silver Birch will still think they can have a huge say in the outcome of the competition and they play Hope & Anchor whilst WAB Reserves in 2nd place play Winnersh Town.

Division 4

Silver Birch A will take top spot on Sunday if they were to beat Whitegrove Pythons. The other game to be played sees 3rd placed Bracknell Royals take on Bracknell Titans in what will be their final league game of the season.

Cup News

Raglan will play A J Victoria in the Final of the Berks & Bucks Sunday Junior Cup on a date and at a venue yet to be confirmed by County. Victoria’s semi-final tie with Richfield Rovers finished 2-2 but Victoria won the penalty shoot-out by 6-5 to settle the tie.
