For the second season in a row Bracknell Town lifted the Hellenic League Challenge Cup thanks to a 3-1 win over Thatcham Town at Windsor’s Stag Meadow.
The Robins may ave lost the Hellenic League Premier Division title to the Kingfishers, but they had the last word in the two sides final Hellenic fixtures thanks to goals from Carl Withers, Adam Cornell and Elliott Legg.
Withers in particular loves a Stag Meadow final, scoring last season as Bracknell beat Binfield in the County Cup and opened the scoring here in the first half with a fine header past Chris Rackley.

Ex-Bracknell forward Shane Cooper-Clark levelled from the penalty spot on 52 minutes – goalkeeper Chris Grace guessed correctly but there was to much power in the spot kick. Cooper-Clark also scored from the spot 7 days earlier on the same ground as his side lost the Floodlit Cup Final to Binfield.
10 minutes later Adam Cornell restored Bracknell’s lead, heading home at the far post from Legg’s cross and the substitute got his own name on the score sheet in injury time, heading Seb Bowerman’s cross in to an empty net.
Bracknell will now look to next season most likely in the Southern League while Thatcham, who will join them, have the small matter of an FA Vase Final appearance at Wembley Stadium on Sunday 20th May,
