On Tuesday night the Aldermaston Recreational Society played host to a local derby as AFC Aldermaston welcomed Woodley United in the Hellenic League Division One East. The Atom Men started strongly and began with a lot of possession, but Woodley were well organised and looked dangerous on the break.

Just as the Kestrels were coming into the game, Jamel Forde Small raced onto a through ball to put Aldermaston 1-0 up. The shot looked to have taken a deflection that wrong footed the keeper, but it was no more than the excellent through ball from Devon Reid deserved.

Shortly after the break it was 2-0 as a cross found its way to Matt Wilkins who smashed the ball home on the volley. Woodley were hanging on, but they managed to weather the storm and then grab a goal back when Sam Guze created some space on the edge of the box and sent his shot over the keeper and into the net.

The visitors were piling on the pressure and they got their reward when a long ball was not dealt with and Kai Parton-Edey (pictured) gathered and slotted home on the 83rd minute. The remainder of the game was end to end as both teams pushed for a goal, and in the 92nd minute the home side managed to get one as a cross found Josh Blackwood who headed home to give Aldermaston the win and send them to the top of the league.

Wallingford made the trip to Arbour Park in Slough to play the team who started the evening as league leaders, Chalvey Sports. Wally took the lead on 12 minutes as Charlie Silkstone finished well from the outside of the box. On 20 minutes Stuart Walker extended the lead for the visitors who were thoroughly on top in the match. In the second half Silkstone added his second from the spot and then completed his hat-trick to leave the final score 4-0 to Wally. The victory means Wallingford maintain their 100% league record of two wins in two games.

At Summerleaze Village, Holyport were looking to continue their recent good form when they entertained Milton United. The first half was an even affair with few chances for either side, but in the second half the Villagers started with much more purpose and had several chances without managing to put one away.

After soaking up all that pressure the Miltonians were able to hit Port with a sucker punch when they went ahead on 67 minutes. The lead lasted only 8 minutes as Fabian Driffill beat his marker and fired the ball into the top corner to equalise. For all their efforts, neither side were able to find a winning goal and the game finished 1-1.
