Bracknell Town extended their winning start to the Bostik League season with a 2-1 win at home to Northwood in the South Central Division 1.

Player manager Carl Davies celebrated his manager of the month award with a goal in the first minute and Adam Cornell doubled the lead for Bracknell on 52 minutes. There were further chances for Cornell and Liam Ferdinand had chances of his own.

In the FA Vase it was an afternoon of frustration for Binfield who went out at AFC Stoneham with the Football in Bracknell team watching on.

Stoneham scored first from the penalty spot in the first half but Sean Moore levelled up shortly after, latching on to a forward ball and lobbing the goalkeeper.

Moore should have made it 2-1 midway through the second half when put through by a brilliant ball from Eddie Lee but he could only fire at the ‘keeper. Minutes later a moment of quality from Carlo Santoro on the left found Moore at the far post, again he couldn’t beat the goalkeeper but the rebound was attacked by James Knight who scored his second goal of the season.

From then on though it was all Stoneham, denied at first by the excellent Chris Grace but an equaliser and an injury time winner sent the home side through.

Elsewhere a Joe Pantony double sent Eversley & California through at the expense of Lymington Town in a 2-1 win while Fabian Driffill scored twice as Holyport beat Fleet Spurs 2-1. Both Holyport and Eversley finished the games with 10 men.

In the Bluefin Sport Challenge Cup Windsor beat North Leigh United 5-1 – the away side starting the game with just 8 men and in the Hellenic League Premier Division Ascot United stayed top with a 4-1 win at Fairford Town. Dan Price, Harry Laflin, Sam Boultwood and the returning Samir Regragui scored for the Yellamen.

In Division 1 East Wokingham & Emmbrook got their first win of the season, winning 1-0 thanks to Simeon Weekes at Chinnor while AFC Aldermaston stayed top with a 4-2 win at Woodley United.
