Wokingham & Emmbrook stun Reading City and all the weekend results

Wokingham & Emmbrook shocked Hellenic League Premier Division side Reading City with a 1-0 win at Larges Lane in the League Cup.

The Sumas have shown significant improvement in recent weeks and announced the signing of former Sandhurst Town captain Harry Oakley prior to Saturday’s fixture.

Youngster Ellis Day (pictured) got the goal for Dan Bateman’s side in the first half after good work from captain Will Day and the visitors had a penalty appeal turned down in the second as Wokingham held on.

Also in the Hellenic League Cup there were wins for AFC Aldermaston and Windsor while Binfield came from behind to beat Thornbury Town 4-2 after extra time.
