Woodley United are now unbeaten in three games and almost took maximum points off third placed Wallingford Town in a 3-3 draw on Monday night.

United were off the bottom of the table on Saturday after a 3-1 win over Chinnor and were it not for an injury time equaliser would have had nine points from three games at Scours Lane.

Max Laschok and a Sam Guze penalty gave the Kestrels a 2-0 lead on the half hour but the visitors hit back before the break and were level on 52 minutes.

Laschok struck again just after the hour mark with what midfielder Adam Barnard called a goal of the season contender before Wallingford equalised in the second minute injury time.

The visitors themselves had a few youngsters in their side and tweeted: “Hard earned point against an improving Woodley United 3-3. Debut to 17 year old Harvey Ford and 2nd 1st team appearance for 17 year old Calum Carrigan. Squad stretched however strong character to come from 2-0 down and 3-2 down. Good luck to Woodley Utd for remainder of the season.”

It’s a decent turnaround for Jon Laugharne’s side after failing to collect a point in their opening five league games. Football in Bracknell were in attendance for the 3-1 Subsiduary Cup win at AFC Aldermaston last week and aside from one mistake in the opening minutes they looked like they had turned a corner. That has certainly been borne out since the weekend.
