Congratulations to Woodley Saints who today won through to the final of the League Junior Cup Final with a 6-0 win against Silver Birch Dynamoes.
Saints will play the winners of next week’s second semi-final between Winnersh Rangers and Sandhurst FFC in the final to be played at Bracknell Town FC’s Larges Lane on Friday 17th May.
In the day’s big Premier Division game FC Fernhill eased to a 5-0 away win over Finchampstead Athletic. With 2nd placed Crowthorne Inn only managing to draw with FC Meta (3-3), today’s results confirm Fernhill as Champions for a second consecutive season with 5 games to spare.
Fernhill will now look to finish their league season unbeaten and have the League Cup Final to look forward to on 10th May as well as an Aldershot Cup semi-final tie to be played on Sunday 7th April. Elsewhere in the Division Panthers beat Golden Farmer Rangers 4-1.
AFC Crowthorne Stiffs installed themselves favourites to lift the Division 1 title with a thumping 7-0 win against Bracknell Athletic, whose hopes of the title may have faded with that defeat. The win takes Stiffs top and above Finchampstead Athletic Reserves on equal points though Stiffs have a better goal difference of 21.
Stiffs closest challengers looks likeliest to be Berks County now who, following today’s 4-2 win away at Woodley United, moved menacingly into 3rd position. Loveman United, who could only manage a 0-0 draw with Athletico Ascot, slip to 4th.
Division 3 leaders Bearwood Wanderers still look favourites to lift the title despite dropping points in the day’s top fixture that finished in a 0-0 draw with 3rd placed Bracknell Cavaliers. Second placed Braybrooke Athletic suffered a crushing blow to their own credentials, going down 2-7 to Winnersh Town.
FC Harmanswater confirmed themselves as runners-up in Division 4 with a 2-0 win against Bracknell Athletic Reserves.
