In the Combined Counties Division One the clash between our two local sides produced a thrilling encounter as Eversley & California hosted Sandhurst Town.

Despite their league standing Eversley started the better of the two sides and they were in front on 15 minutes when Brad Brown played in Jordan Goater who finished in style.

6 minutes later the Boars doubled their lead when Will Shaw found Ross McKernan on the edge of the box and the forward made it 2-0. Midway through the half the Fizzers reduced the deficit when Ashley Ledger played the ball over the Eversley defence for the onrushing Paul Rake who made it 2-1.

In the second half both sides enjoyed spells of pressure and had chances to score but the next goal did not come until the 81st minute when Charlie Oakley equalised for Sandhurst by getting on the end of a low Paddy Gardner cross.

The Boars thought they had won the game on 85 minutes but had a goal ruled out for offside and it proved to crucial as the Fizzers grabbed a 91st minute winner when Oakley got his second and his sides 3rd to give Sandhurst the win late on.

Hellenic League Division One East

In the Hellenic Division One East AFC Aldermaston left it late to beat Didcot Town Development, and keep their promotion hopes alive in the process.

The Atomics had to wait until the 89th minute when Lemar Maycock scored to break the deadlock and claim all three points in a competitive away fixture.

The win keeps Aldermaston in 2nd place in the table, but the gap to Burnham remains at 10 points as Wallingford Town were not able to do the Atomics a favour in their match against the league leaders.

Burnham were three goals to the good at half time, and while Wally improved in the second half and asked some questions of the visiting side, they were not able to get on the scoresheet and the game finished 3-0.

Woodley United came close to denting the promotion hopes of Thame Rangers before eventually succumbing to a late winner at Scours Lane.

The Kestrels took the lead on 19 minutes when a Pablo Fernandez corner evaded everyone and went straight into the net, but Thame were on terms 7 minutes later when they equalised from the spot. The visitors took the lead with 5 minutes to go and held on to condemn Woodley to a 5th straight defeat.

For the second time in a week Holyport hit 7 unanswered goals against Abingdon Town. It took just 3 minutes for Port to take the lead when Steven Deverall headed home a Matt Ensby throw in before Deverall turned provider, playing in Josh Lowther who lobbed the visiting keeper to make it 2-0.

In the 33rd minute Deverall set up Fabian Driffill to volley home before completing his hat-trick of assists 5 minutes later by setting up Lowther’s 2nd goal. 5 minutes before half time Driffill got his 2nd from a Lowther flick on to make it 5- at the break.

In the 2nd half Deverall added two further strikes to make his personal tally 3 goals and 3 assists, with both goals being set up by Lowther who also finished with 3 assists in a thumping 7-0 victory.
