Congratulations to Ashridge Park Royals, Newbold, Braybrooke Athletic, Sandhurst FFC, Woodley United and William Twigg who all made progress through to the Second round of the Berks & Bucks Sunday Junior Cup.
In three of the five all-Bracknell ties, lower division sides caused upsets by beating those one division above as Ashridge Park Royals, Newbold and William Twigg, all of Division 2, beat division 1 sides Winkfield, Bracknell Athletic and Athletico Ascot respectively.
Bracknell Rangers bowed out of the County Intermediate Cup at the first hurdle against former Bracknell Sunday League side FC Meta who needed penalties to dispatch Rangers after the game had finished 1-1.
Crowthorne Inn moved two points clear at the top of the Premier Division after 2-games have been played, by beating Raglan 3-1. In a division that may well prove to be the most competitive for a few seasons, Panthers opened their account for the season with a 4-2 win away to Berks County whilst the game between Morale Madrid and Loveman United finished all-square at 1-1.
Woodley Saints consolidated their position at the top of Division 1 with a 3-2 win against Wokingham & Emmbrook TMW with the prolific Jamie Burnett on the scoresheet for Saints. In the other game played in the Division Crowthorne got their first points on the board with a 4-1 win away to Athletico Forest through goals by John Mulholland (2), Mark Brown and Andre Jardim.
Bearwood Wanderers moved two points clear at the top of Division 2 following their 3-1 win against Golden Farmer Rangers. Winnersh Rangers stay second, managing only a 1-1 draw with Bracknell Cavaliers.
Both Silver Birch and AFC Dukes maintained their 100% winning starts to the season beating FC Harmnswater 3-2 and Bracknell Saint Germain 6-3 respectively. Birch and Dukes top the table level on points from Winnersh Town (3-1 winners v. Running Horse), Crowthorne FC A (3-0 win v Ashridge Park) and Hope & Anchor (4-1 winners v 3M), all on 6 points.
In division 4 both Bracknell Cavaliers Reserves and FC Showcase maintained their winning starts making it 3 from 3. Josh Gladstone netted 5 times for the Cavs in their 16-1 win against Bracknell Athletic U21’s whilst Showcase put ten past Bracknell Titans (10-1).
