There were five fixtures in the Thames Valley Premier League on Saturday 28th September with two sides scoring seven away from home.

Leaders Newbury were without a game on Saturday in part, possibly because a number of players were featuring for the TVPL representative side in the FA Inter League Cup against the Southern Amateur Combination. See a full gallery of Peter Toft images from that fixture here.

They stayed top though, albeit level on points with Maidenhead Town and Woodcote while Berks County and Burghfield both earned big away wins.

Cookham Dean 2 Berks County FC 7

A remarkable four goals from Sean Hanley helped Berks County to a 7-2 victory at Cookham Dean. Josh Griggs, Ebby Opuku-Ware, Ben Hall and Craig Craskey scored the other goals for rampant County.

Maidenhead Town 4 Mortimer 2

Goals from Craig Haylett and Adam Cayzer weren’t enough for rock bottom Mortimer. Lewis Critcher, Mitchell Burley and a brace from Jake Wheeler saw Town take all three points and move joint on points with Newbury and Woodcote at the top of the Thames Valley Premier League table.

Windlesham United 0 Burghfield 7

Berks County weren’t the only club scoring seven away from home on Saturday. At Windlesham a hat-trick from Jordan Jones, two from Ross Baker and a Richard Dance goal saw Burghfield romp home.

Wraysbury Village 2 Richings Park 1

A first victory of the season for Wraysbury on Saturday over Richings Park. A second half double for Nico Harris with Jack Bees scoring the goal for Richings Park.

Finchampstead 0 Reading City U23 0

Unlike Burghfield and Berks County the two sides at Finchampstead forgot their scoring boots. Both clubs will be pleased with a clean sheet but perhaps not with the full-time result.
