Morale Madrid of the Premier Division were made to work hard for their win in the League Senior Cup 1st round. Having been held by Bracknell Athletic of Division 1 to 3-3 at the end of the game, Morale needed penalties to see them through to the next round (4-2).
There were no real upsets in round 1 of the League Junior Cup as all ties went pretty much to form. There were big wins for AFC Dukes (18-0 v. Bracknell Titans), Newbold (10-0 v. Bracknell Spartans U21’s), Braybrooke Athletic (9-0 v. Bracknell Athletic U21’s) and Bracknell Cavaliers Reserves (Div 4) , who caused a minor shock by upsetting Golden Farmer Randers of Division 2 by 8-4. In other ties featured in our preview FC Harmanswater narrowly defeated an in-form FC Showcase by 3-2 whilst William Twigg overcame Bracknell Royals 3-0.

Goals from George Lock and Ryan Martin secured a 2-0 win for Bracknell Rangers against Raglan. That win moves Rangers to the top of the Premier Division. In other Premier Division fixtures FC Fernhill edged out Panthers by 3-0 whilst Berks county defeated fellow promotees Loveman United 3-0. County’s goal scorers were Dan Best (2) and Matt Lambert.
Finchampstead Athletic dented Woodley Saints 100% winning start to their Division 1 season with a resounding 6-0 win. Athletico Ascot were held to a 3-3 draw by Wokingham & Emmbrook TMW whilst Sandhurst FFC defeated Crowthorne FC by 4-2. Those results put Sandhurst top on goal difference but level on points with Woodley Saints. Ascot drop down to third. The other game played in the division resulted in a 2-0 win for Woodley United over a struggling Winkfield. United’s goals were scored by Chris Dodd and Matt Benham.
