On Saturday there were three all Berkshire matches in the Bucks & Berks Senior Trophy for fans who were willing to brave the rain to enjoy.

At Bottom Meadow two Step 6 sides from different leagues were drawn against each other as Sandhurst Town hosted Holyport. It was the Hellenic side who drew first blood when Andy Forisky gave them the lead after just 8 minutes and the visitors doubled their advantage 10 minutes later as Fabian Driffill scored his 8th goal in 4 games to make it 2-0.

The Fizzers were back in the game midway through the first half when a Matt Watson free kick was nodded on by Mitchel Cooper before being volleyed in by Bradley Brown.

Sandhurst left it late to draw level, but an equaliser finally came with under 10 minutes remaining, when Brown nodded in his second of the game following a corner.

With the scores at 2-2 after 90 minutes the game went straight to penalties with Sandhurst eventually triumphing 5-3, to make it to the next round.

Wokingham & Emmbrook recorded an emphatic victory in their away tie with Langley. The Sumas were 1 up inside 5 minutes as Nick Bateman played in Luke Scope to score. Langley hit back almost straight away when Jack Dawes finished off a good move to make it 1-1, but Wokingham quickly when Ben Broadhurst fired in from outside the box.

After three goals in the first 10 minutes it was just before halftime before the Sumas added to their tally when Scope attacked from the left and scored at the second attempt after his initial shot was saved. Just before the break Scope had his hat-trick as Liam Eagle set the striker away to score.

In the second half Langley pushed to get back into the game, but it would eventually be Wokingham who added to their lead midway through the half when Ellis Day curled a shot in to make it 5-1, and with the game won Elliott Rushford added a goal in the final minutes, scoring a header from a corner. The match finished Langley 1-6 Wokingham & Emmbrook.

Chalvey Sports were involved in a seven goal thriller in their match at Thames Valley Premier League side Cookham Dean. Despite being from the Step below their opponents it was Cookham who raced into an early lead with two goals from Jack Shea making in 2-0 inside quarter of an hour, and a further strike from Jack Alder making it 3-0 on 33 minutes.

Joe Creighton gave the Stabmonks some hope just before the break as his well taken goal made it 3-1 at half time. On 67 minutes Tom Jansons reduced the deficit further with a goal on his return from injury, and 5 minutes later the comeback was complete as the Cookham Dean goalkeeper punched a Creighton corner into his own net for 3-3.

There was a twist in the tale however, when Cookham’s Dan Stacey broke from midfield to score a late winner and send his side through to the next round.

In the Combined Counties Division One Eversley & California’s home game against Godalming Town was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
