In a weekend disrupted by the weather, Ascot United made it third time lucky as they got their first three points since returning home to the Racecourse Ground with a 2-1 win over Abbey Rangers in the Cherry Red Records Combined Counties League Premier Division.

The win kept the Yellamen at the top of the table after two defeats at home had narrowed the gap, not least visitors Abbey who have two games in hand.

Ian Davies and Jonny Denton were the match winners on the day as Jamie Tompkins side went 2-0 up with the visitors pulling one back in the 75th minute to ensure a nervy end.

In the A30 derby at Sandhurst, it was 2-2 in the driving rain as Bagshot and Sandhurst Town played out a draw at Bottom Meadow.

Patrick Gardner opened the scoring in the Combined Counties League Division One fixture for the Fizzers after seven minutes but Bagshot levelled it up on 22 minutes.

The visitors then took the lead in the 70th minute before Bradley Brown converted an 84th minute penalty to level things up.

Eversley & California had a Saturday to forget after they were beaten 5-0 at home by Bedfont & Feltham.
