Goals galore in Bracknell Sunday League Cup ties; Woodley Saints cause upset

Goals rained in the todays League Senior Cup 2nd round ties with FC Fernhill bagging 12 in their Senior Cup tie against Athletico Ascot, flying high in Division 1, whilst the game between Morale Madrid and Wokingham & Emmbrook TMW finished 7-3 to Morale.

Sandhurst FFC and Woodley United shared 8 goals, Sandhurst edging that one by 5-3. The tie with the highest aggregate score of the day however finished Athletico Forest 6 Panthers 8.

There was a minor upset that saw Woodley Saints, going well at the top of Division 1 and holders of the Junior Cup, beat Premier Division outfit Bracknell Rangers 4-1. Saints’ goal-scorers were Paul Rake (2), Jamie Burnett and Simon Johnson.

Elsewhere Loveman United progressed (2-1 winners against Raglan), Jack Gale bagging one of the goals for Loveman, and Finchampstead Athletic needed penalties to overcome fellow division 1 side Crowthorne FC after that one finished 1-1 after 90 minutes play.

In the Junior Cup Winersh Town netted 10 times to dispatch Finchampstead Athletic A (10-0) whilst Braybrooke Athletic beat Bracknell Cavaliers 6-2.

Crowthorne Inn went top of the Premier Division following their hard-fought 3-2 win against Berks County.

William Twigg moved menacingly into 2nd position in Division 2 with an emphatic 8-1 win against bottom team Panthers Reserves. Elsewhere in the Division Bracknell Corinthians and Winnersh town shared the points following their 2-2 draw. Bearwood Wanderers, who didn’t play today, still lead by 1 point over Twigg in 2nd who have a game in hand. The draw drops Winnersh to 3rd.

At the top of Division 3 AFC Dukes now lead by 6 points after their game today with Hope & Anchor was awarded as a walkover. Winnersh Town remain in 2nd place whilst 3rd placed Silver Birch lost ground after a 2-3 reverse at the hands of Ashridge Park.

Harts of Bracknell moved into 2nd place in Division 4 with a 4-2 win against AFC Dukes Reserves, 3 points behind leaders Bracknell Cavaliers Reserves with a game in hand. Bracknell Athletic U21’s beat fellow basement side Bracknell Titans for the second time in two weeks, this time by 6-1, securing their second win of the season. Bracknell Royals moved into 4th after an 11-0 win against Bracknell Spartans U21’s. Royals goal-scorers were Brandon Vaessen (3), Simon may (3), Cryst Enriquez (2), Lewis Francis, Jordan Pember and Josh Ellis.
