No change at the top of the Thames Valley Premier League but Maidenhead Town were able to apply a bit of pressure with a good win while much of the weekend action occurred around the League and County Cups with Mortimer continuing their resurgence with a 2-1 win at home to Berks County while Wraysbury and Woodcote shared eight goals.

Abingdon United 4 Newbury 1

Charlie Bateman scored all four goals for Abindgon United as the Hellenic League side proved too too strong for Newbury on Saturday in the BBFA Trophy.

Maidenhead Town 4 Burghfield 1

Town continued their assault on the top echelons of the Thames Valley Premier League with a comfortable 4-1 home victory at Bisham Abbey.

Mitchell Burley, Austyn Chadwick and two from Duarte Surpanu goalscorers for Maidenhead Town. Burghfield’s goal was scored by James McClellan.

Woodley United Royals 0 Richings Park 4

Richings Park followed up their previous week’s 14-1 victory with a 4-0 win at Woodley. John Swift with a brace and Callum Maley scored for Park. Jack Bees will be buzzing to have scored for a second consecutive weekend.

Berkshire Trophy Centre Senior Cup

Mortimer 2 Berks County 1

The Villagers continued their fine recent form with another victory over Berks County. Andrew Johnstone-Archer and Carl Self scored the goals for the home side.

Westwood Wanderers 4 Rotherfield United 2

A hat-trick for Scotty Warwick and Jack Sargent strike were enough to see Westwood through to the next round of the Berkshire Trophy Centre Senior Cup.

Wanderers were 2-1 down at half-time so will be pleased with their second half performance.

Wraysbury Village 4 Woodcote 4 (Wraysbury win 4-2 on penalties)

The game of the day took place in Wraysbury with a penalty shootout needed to separate the two sides.

Wraysbury were 2-0 down at half-time but a strong second half from the home side saw the game level at the end.

Black, Paps and a brace for Harris were the goalscorers for Wraysbury. Frank Dillion with a brace, Jake DIllon and Ben Rusher scored for the away side.
