Thatcham Town's unbeaten run ends and Sandhurst Town share eight goals

Thatcham Town’s 15 match unbeaten BetVictor Southern League Division One South run came to an end on Saturday when they were beaten 3-1 at home by Slimbridge.

The Kingfishers remain two points behind leaders Frome Town with two games in hand and Danny Robinson tweeted after the game that no sleep would be lost.

Slimbridge led after 35 minutes with Zak Westlake levelling things up on 53 minutes. Shortly after though the Gloucestershire went 2-1 up and the points were wrapped at 3-1 in the 64th minute. A report on the Thatcham site is here.

New Bracknell Town manager Bobby Wilkinson saw his side pick up a point at home to the BetVictor Isthmian League South Central Division One leaders Hanwell Town.

There was a debut for new signing Nebay Haile but it was summer signing Dan Bayliss who put the Robins in front on 53 minutes before Gareth Chendlik levelled for Hanwell on 61.

Wilkinson was featured in the Non League Paper on Sunday, confirming he had signed a 5 year deal at the Larges Lane side.

In the Buildbase FA Trophy First Round, Maidenhead United booked their place in the Second Round draw, beating Vanarama National League South side Hemel Hempstead Town 4-2 at York Road.

Josh Kelly and Danny Whitehall gave the Magpies a 2-1 half time lead but the Tudors levelled in the second half before substitute Shamir Fenelon scored twice in the second half to send Maidenhead through.

Combined Counties League

Ascot United missed the chance to go top of the Cherry Red Records Combined Counties League Premier Division after they were beaten 3-2 by Knaphill.

The visitors led 2-0 before Ian Davies pulled one back but Knaphill then scored again on 65 minutes to make it 3-1.

Substitute Aiden Higgs made it 3-2 but the Yellamen couldn’t find a leveller. Jamie Tompkins side now head to leaders Spelthorne Sports on Tuesday night. A full report is on the Ascot site here.

In Division One, Eversley & California’s game fell foul of the weather but Sandhurst Town shared eight goals with Deportivo Galicia, Joe Barley scoring an equaliser in the sixth minute of injury time after a Danny Horscroft hat trick helped the Fizzers back after going in 4-0 down at half time.

Hellenic League

Much of the Berkshire based Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division program fell foul of the weather but Virginia Water picked up an impressive 5-1 win at home to Royal Wootton Bassett Town thanks to goals from Casey Bocarro, Lorenzo Di Felice, Josh Dillon and two from Jake Baker.

In Division One East, Holyport cruised to a 6-0 win at home to Abingdon Town with Andy Forisky getting a hat trick, Fabian Driffill two and another from Lee Ovens saw Port keep up the pace at the top of the table.

Wokingham & Emmbrook’s own promotion challenge suffered a set back with a 2-0 defeat at Abingdon United while Chalvey Sports fought back from 2-0 down at half time to beat Thame Rangers 3-2 thanks to a Tom Jansons double and a winner from Jamie Earis.

And finally, it was a case of Laschok and awe as Woodley United beat beat Langley 4-2 at Scours Lane. Read all about it!
