A real mixed bag this weekend as we continued to see many games postponed due to high winds and waterlogged pitches (Maidenhead, Woodley, Thatcham and S4K), however there were some big scoring games with 38 goals tallied across the county.

Unfortunately, losses across the board were picked up in the Southern Region Women’s Football League. Darcey Young picked up two goals for Ascot United making her third top goalscorer for the Yellawomen based on total appearances, but ultimately Wycombe Wanderers proved themselves and scored five goals to secure the win and place them five points ahead of Ascot.

Newbury missed out on points as well, as Moneyfields beat them 3-1. Not entirely unexpected as they sit pretty at the top with no points lost for the season. And finally, Tilehurst Panthers saw a 4-2 loss to Wycombe Wanderers Development as their top goalscorer nabbed herself a hat-trick.

Cup action

This weekend clocked in some cup action as Eversley & California Ladies took on Hawley Ladies in the Hampshire Women’s Intermediate Cup semi-final. Two cracking goals scored by Eversley & California secured their place in the final where they will face United Services Portsmouth Women.

Meanwhile, Wokingham & Emmbrook Ladies took on City Belles Women in the Berks & Bucks Cup and unfortunately bow at at the semi-finals stage as City Belles secured a 3-1 win.

Division 2 of the TVCWFL saw Kingsclere Ladies lose to top of the table Milton United in a 4-0 defeat. Division 3 was set to be a proper county battle with Mortimer Ladies taking on Caversham AFC Women and Thatcham Flames up against S4K FC Ladies. Unfortunately, the latter of the two was postponed but Mortimer sailed their way to the full three points with a 5-0 win and two goals from Katy McNicholas and further strikes from Beth Millican, Mel Saunders and Samantha Nice.
