Cherry Red Records Combined Counties League Division One side Eversley & California have just a little room to breath after a terrific 5-1 victory at British Airways.

The Boars had Paras Gill to thank on his third appearance for the Boars as he opened the scoring after 20 minutes at The Orchard.

BA hit back to make it 1-1 after the break but on the hour, Ross Drury struck from 35 yards to make it 2-1 with a goal that sounds like one of those that will gain yards with every telling of it.

There were further goals for George Marsh, a second for Gill and one for Josh Smith as Matthew Angell’s side rounded off a memorable night that see’s them three points clear of the bottom two in 18th.

The result is tempered slightly with the knowledge that19th place Chessington & Hook United have three games in hand over the Boars, but both clubs have games in hand over the sides above them in the table – a situation Angell’s side have to now take advantage of.

Sandhurst Town’s trip to AFC Hayes fell foul of the weather.

In the Uhlsport Hellenic League Division One East, Woodley United suffered a 4-0 defeat at Kidlington Dev while in the Reading Senior Cup, Thames Valley Premier League Newbury beat Hellenic League Wallingford Town 2-0 at Hithercroft.
