This weeks featured Thames Valley Premier League game saw Newbury start to make up their games in hand with a 2-0 win at Cookham Dean.

Elsewhere, Hurst continued their good run in the Berkshire Trophy Centre Senior Cup with a win at Reading City while Maidenhead Town won at home to Windlesham United.

Thames Valley Premier League

Cookham Dean 0 Newbury 2

A solid 2-0 victory for Newbury at Cookham Dean on Saturday saw Lorenzo Medford and Ryan Adams on the score-sheet. Newbury now move into fifth place in the Thames Valley Premier League.

Maidenhead Town 3 Windlesham United 0

Perry Howard made his fiftieth appearence for Maidenhead Town, keeping a clean sheet in their 3-0 victory over Windlesham. Goalscorers for Town were Samuel Angel, Duarta Surpanu and Bliss Dideola.

Berkshire Trophy Centre Senior Cup

Finchampstead 3 Westwood Wanderers 5

Wanderers took their league form into cup competition on Saturday with an eight goal thriller at Memorial Park in Finchampstead. Finch’s goals were scored by Dan Pawson and Richie Dow with a brace.

Reading City U23 1 Hurst 2

A bit of a shock at the Ibis Club on Saturday saw Thames Valley Division One side win over Premier side Reading City U23s. Goals from Oliver Bridges and Lewis Butcher sent Hurst into the next round.

Wargrave 4 Richings Park 4 – Richings Park win 4-2 on penalties

Another eight goal thriller in the Berkshire Trophy Centre Senior Cup on Saturday took place in Wargrave. It was Richings Park who left the game the happier side after defeating Wargrave after extra time in a penalty shoot-out.
