Finchampstead Athletic won through to the 2nd round of the League Cup by 4-2 against Wokingham & Emmbrook TMW through goals by Richard Kell, Greg Alexander, Leon Mannion and Charlie Oakley. Hudell and Duffelen were Wokingham’s scorers. Finch will play Raglan in the next round.
In the League Junior Cup First Round ties, four were settled by penalties with Freeman Royals, Crowthorne A, Hope & Anchor and Bracknell Cavaliers Reserves edging through to the 2nd round. Ashridge Park of Division 3 bagged 17 goals without reply in their tie against Bracknell Titans (Division 4). Daniel Merritt with five, Jack Steadman with four and Kieran O’Leary three of Park’s goals, whilst FC Showcase were the day’s other big scorers with a 10-1 win away at Bracknell Athletic Reserves.
Goals from Rob Ellis (2), George Archer and Nick Cooper were enough to shade a tight contest for Bracknell Corinthians with Winnersh Rangers (4-3). The days other winners in the Cup were Bracknell Saint Germain, Ashridge Park Royals, Woodley United, Braybrooke Athletic, Bracknell Royals, and holders AFC Dukes.
Crowthorne Inn top the Premier Division after a 3-2 win against Woodley Saints but only on goal difference from Berks County who beat Raglan 4-1. FC Fernhill won a tight contest with Bracknell Rangers 2-0.
Crowthorne moved clear at the top of Division 1 with a 4-3 win away at Panthers whilst Bearwood Wanderers moved into second position winning by the same scoreline against Bigshot. Goals by Ben Poynter (3), Sam Rogers (2) and Jack Gale gave Loveman United their first points of the season following their 6-0 win against Sandhurst FFC.
On a busy day of Cup football in the lower Divisions, the only other League game played resulted in a 2-1 win for Silver Birch over Bracknell Cavaliers. That win moves Birch into second position in Division 2.
