Berks County have continued their solid start to the season with a 2-1 victory over Westwood Wanderers at their new home, Binfield FC’s Hill Farm Lane.

John Swift scored both goals for the Swords bringing his season tally up to five. Devonn Reid scored Wanderers’ goal. County have won all three of their Thames Valley Premier League fixtures so far this season and sit at the top of the division.

Second-placed Finchampstead continued their unbeaten start to the season with an entertaining 3-3 draw with Burghfield at the Memorial Ground. Stephen Hunt, Tom Symms and James Payne with his third in four games scored the goals for the home side. The away sides goals were scored by Oliver Brown with a brace and a Josh Cook strike in the first half.

Cookham Dean earned their first victory of the season against bottom of the table Reading City U23. Paolo Cicero scored the only goal of the game at the Alfred Major Rec. Reading City U23 have lost all three games so far this season.

Mortimer won 3-2 for the second week running on Saturday. Goals from Sam Kalius, Lee Vincent and Tom Clark were enough to secure all three points. Richings Park goals were scored by Aaron Jones and Bradley Jones.

A Terry Patton opener for Newbury was cancelled out by Maidenhead Town’s Alex Mugan at Henwick Park on Saturday. Despite remaining unbeaten Newbury’s season hasn’t quite got going yet and Town will be happier with the point.

Windlesham & Chobham won their first game of the season on Saturday against a Marlow United side who are yet to pick up their first win so far this season. Luke Edmondson and Luis Skone scored the goals for the home side.

A Nathan Lock brace wasn’t enough for Woodley United Royals who lost 4-2 to Wraysbury Village. Sam Sillah, Mitchell Dunstall, Matthew Andrews and George Dewhurst found the net for Wraysbury who move into third place in the table.
