Report from Sunday’s Reading Sunday Social League fixture between Caversham United and Southbank at the IBIS Club.

Goalscorers (or goalkeeper if clean sheet)

CU: Alex Jenkins, Lewis Downes

SFC: Ryan North, Musa Saidybah and George Grant

Your player of the match

CU: Euan Barker – solid at centre back and noticeable difference when he subbed off.

SFC: Reece Jones – yet another outstanding display at left back, and James Gearing – keeper who’s first half saves kept us in the game when Caversham were on top

Best moment of the match

CU: Southbank’s bicycle kick equaliser at 1-1.

SFC: Ryan North’s perfectly executed overhead that levelled the scores at 1-1…after years of trying he’s finally pulled one off.

Most ‘Sunday League’ moment of the day?

CU: Our keeper (Tom Higginson) smashing a clearance at our centre back (Seb Young), which cannoned across the box, leaving the Southbank striker to tap the ball into the empty net.

SFC: After four months of inaction we still had players not turn up when they’d said they would!

Absolutely anything else?

CU: Just the start we needed!
