Burghfield 5 – 4 Windlesham & Chobham

There is no doubting that Burghfield vs Windlesham & Chobham was the game of the day in the Thames Valley League on Saturday. A hat-trick from Lewis Butcher, Billy Margetts and a goal from Oliver Brown from the home side. Windlesham & Chobham will be wondering how they could score four away from home, go 4-0 up and still end up on the losing side. The four goals that ended up as “consolation” goals were scored by Connor Jones and Jack Melbourne who scored two apiece.

Maidenhead Town 1 – 2 Finchampstead

Finch continued their oustanding form by overcoming Maidenhead Town at Bisham Abbey. Joel Day netted his eighth of the season for Finchampstead with Aqeel Butt scoring the other. Town’s goal was scored by Cameron Netherwood-Meek in the last minute.

Marlow United 2 – 0 Wraysbury

A George Goode brace gave Marlow United all three points on Saturday. Goode has now scored four goals in his six appearances so far this season. Marlow have moved into eighth position after a slow start in the league.

Reading City U23 3 – 1 Richings Park

Reading secured only their third league win of the season on Saturday against Richings Park. Sid Gbla and Lyndon Tyson scored for the home side with Reiss Spencer-Parson scoring Park’s consolation.

Westwood Wanderers 2 – 1 Mortimer

A Matthew Badger goal and a Callum McCulloch strike were enough to hand Westwood Wanderers all three points on Saturday. Wanderers now move into fourth place behind only Yateley, Finchampstead and Burghfield. Felix Cole’s third goal of the season turned out to be a consolation for the away side.
