Burghfield FC through in FA Sunday Cup and land away draw

Reading & District Sunday League side Burghfield marched into the last 16 of the prestigious FA Sunday Cup at the weekend, beating Banstead Rovers at Burnham FC.

Elliot Telford put the West Berkshire side ahead after 15 minutes on Sunday and could have made it 2-0 but appeals for a penalty when he went down in the box were waved away.

Rovers capitalised and levelled on 36 minutes to send the sides in level at half-time.

Whatever was said at the break, it certainly sent Burghfield out firing and Josh Howell put them back in front with a trademark free-kick that he’s been scoring for Binfield for over a decade.

He then made it 3-1 on 75 minutes from the penalty spot and Rhys Iremonger made it 4-1 in injury time, a minute after Banstead were reduced to 10 men.
