Binfieldfc.com last night confirmed the final member of the Hill Farm Lane strike force had signed on for the forthcoming season.

Liam Ferdinand, the clubs top scorer last season with 22 goals will remain with the Moles this season joining a front-line that includes the impressive Jean-Claude Etienne as well as new signings Tom Williams, Matt Jones (Ascot United) and Luke Scope (Wokingham & Emmbrook) along with Jake White (Flackwell Heath) who is able to play anywhere across the front.

Moles boss Roger Herridge was understandably delighted to retain his man, saying: “It’s fantastic news for us. There were a number of clubs looking at ‘Ferdi’ but I am very glad he is staying with us again.”

Ferdinand was on the score sheet on Tuesday night as Binfield were beaten by two late goals at Southern League side Didcot Town.

The Moles led but were pegged back to 1-1 at the break, and Didcot went on to score twice late on in the game.

Herridge felt his side – who lost Alex Walton early on in the game to a broken nose – could take a lot from the game but were unlucky to be on the losing side.

Binfield now welcome Hungerford Town to Hill Farm Lane on Thursday night and a reunion with former player Luke Williams as the season prepares to kick-off next week.
