Ascot United managers Paul McGrotty and Jeff Lamb have swooped to sign AFC Aldermaston left back Richard Jones.
The move – reported on the Isotopes website – confirms that Jones has moved across East Berkshire to the Racecourse Ground and will make the step up to the Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division.

Jones was part of the Aldermaston side that were promoted from the Thames Valley Premier League in the summer and was ever present in the debut Hellenic League season.

A statement by manager Kieran Jennings on the Aldermaston website reads: “Dickie will be missed as he’s been a good lad in the dressing room, doing the strength and conditioning training and of course on the pitch”.
Jones has been registed on the Hellenic League full time website and should be available for the Yellamen’s home tie with Longlevens AFC on Saturday.
