Hellenic League Division 1 East side AFC Aldermaston have signed their ‘number one target’ according to manager Kieran Jennings.

Amongst a raft of signings announced midweek, the Atom Men have confirmed the signature of former Finchampstead man Chace Jewell.

The move signals the first confirmed move of a member of the Finch squad that broke up following the clubs enforced demotion to the Thames Valley League after 17 seasons at step 6.

Atomics boss Jennings tweeted on Thursday evening his delight at securing his number one summer target. He said: “So pleased to have secured one of our number 1 targets. One of the best we played against last year and delighted to have him.”

Jewell played 30 times for Jon Laugharne’s Finch side in 2016/17 scoring four goals.

Jennings has already re-signed full back Richard Jones who has been named captain along with top scorer Kai Parton-Edey.

Speaking recently to FiB, Jennings said: “We’ve identified that we need about 4 or 5 players to come in and help us kick on and we are progressing really well in getting them in to the club.”
