Uhlsport Hellenic Premier Division new boys Windsor have confirmed that former Fulham and Plymouth Argyle striker Barry Hayles is training with Stag Meadow club.

Now 45, Hayles is – according to the Maidnehead Advertiser – training with Mick Woodham’s side with a view to joining as a player/coach.

Hayles started his journey to the football league after joining then Isthmian League side Stevenage Borough from Willesden Hawkey in 1994 before joining Bristol Rovers and earning a move to Premier League bound Fulham where he scored 44 goals in 175 appearances.

Between 1995 and 1997 Hayles made two appearances for the England C side and earned 10 caps with Jamaica as well as lifting the Seniors World Cup with England in 2016.

Since 2010 though Hayles has been on the non-league circuit with spells at Truro City and most recently Chesham United.

Windsor boss Woodham said: “He’s been training with us but I know that at this time of the year anything can happen.

“We’re still in our first year with the academy (Cox Green) and seeing what opportunities it can have for the football club.

“Let’s see what happens at the weekend with the boys and I’m sure the cat will soon come out of the bag.”
