Binfield have confirmed the return of winger Josh Howell to Hill Farm Lane, recapturing a player they lost to Thatcham Town last summer.

The Moles tweeted: “News of a new signing this morning… a welcome return to the club for Josh Howell who has transferred from Thatcham Town”.

Howell’s return will be a welcome boost for Roger Herridge’s side who were beaten 2-0 on the opening day of the Hellenic Premier Division season but pulled off a superb FA Cup win at home to Chichester City on Saturday.

The winger made 43 appearances for the Moles in the 2015/16 season scoring twelve goals on the back of 47 appearances and 16 goals the previous season with the odd absolute belter thrown in – enough to attract the attention of promotion chasing Thatcham who signed him up for the 2016/17 season.

Unfortunately injury curtailed the youngsters season and he didn’t make an appearance for the Kingfishers who went on to finish fourth.

Thatcham manager Danny Robinson posted his own thoughts on the move on twitter:
