Ascot United add three to Combined Counties League squad




Cherry Red Records Combined Counties League Premier Division leaders Ascot United have added three new faces to their squad.

Two of the new Ascot signings, confirmed on the clubs twitter account, Liam Flanighan and Mario Banovic made their debuts in the starting eleven for Saturday’s 2-1 win at home to Abbey Rangers.

The duo are joined at the Racecourse Ground by attacker Aiden Higgs who has moved across Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division side Burnham where he played nine times scoring three goals this season.

Banovic is a centre back or central midfielder who has experience playing in Croatia and Germany.

Flanighan meanwhile, is a centre back has signed from CCL rivals Badshot Lea where he made eight appearences this season.

As the footballing fates would have it, the Yellamen travel to Badshot on Tuesday night for the third time this season, offering Flanighan a quick reunion with his former club.
