Charlie Estcourt was one of the 8 players whose contracts ran out in June after the covid pandemic brought the FA WSL to a premature end. Reading born, Estcourt is a pacey midfielder who first joined Reading as a youth academy member, she moved to Chelsea in 2011 before returning to the Royals in 2015. She made 14 appearances in total for the club. She then made a loan move to Bristol City for the 2017/18 season with 13 appearances before going on loan once again to Charlton Athletic, scoring 1 goal in 11 appearances.

Estcourt qualifies as a Welsh international and has featured in the U17s, U19s and senior squad since gaining her first cap in 2015. She has scored 4 goals in 40 appearances for the team and will no doubt be looking for a spot in Jayne Ludlow’s squad alongside her former Royals team-mates Rachel Rowe, Natasha Harding and Angharad James, as well as newly signed Jess Fishlock.

Just like Reading did in the FA WSL, London Bees finished in the 5th place in the Championship at the end of the 2019/20 season so will likely be pushing to nab themselves a promotion spot when the season kicks off at the beginning of September.

Estcourt said in the a statement on the Bees website, “I’m really excited to get going, the girls have all been very welcoming. I’ve heard great things about Lee (Burch) in the last few years, so I am really excited to get going. Having a good manager and coach is massive, so he was a really big pull in me coming here and I am really enjoying working with him.

Maxime Bennink and Jo Potter are the final two former players due to confirm where they have moved to after their Reading contracts expired. Whilst Maz Pacheco confirmed a move to West Ham, Rachael Laws returned to Liverpool and Lisa-Marie Utland joined Rosenborg Kvinner. Millie Farrow, Sophie Howard and Remi Allen were all recently confirmed to have made the move to Leicester City as they push for championship promotion.
