Bracknell Town have announced a double attacking signing of intent with the addition of former Maidenhead United striker Dave Tarpey alongside ex-Wealdstone and Hungerford Town forward James Clark.

The signature of Tarpey is a coup for the Robins, the forward was with Woking in the Vanarama National League where he played 44 times in the last two seasons according to the Cards website.

The forward was part of the brilliant National League South title-winning Maidenhead side alongside Sam Barratt where he scored 46 times in the league and cup, including this strike that ended up going viral:

Writing on Twitter, Tarpey revealed part of the reason for his departure from Woking was the Cards move to full-time status: “Thank you to everyone at Woking for the last few seasons. Unfortunately with the club starting a new era and going full time it’s something I couldn’t do. Good luck to the players, staff and fans for the future.”

He added that part of the reason for the move to Bracknell was the opportunity to reunite with Robins boss Bobby Wilkinson: “Delighted to have signed , I said to Bobby 15 years ago I will play for him again, with a family and future work to think about that time is now. This club is about to start a great journey and I’m buzzing to be part of it.”
