Ascot United Under 16s girls were celebrating the retention of the Surrey County Girls League Cup on Sunday after a 6-5 penalty shoot-out win over Queens Park Rangers at Merstham Football Club.

The girls had beaten Crystal Palace 7-2 in last years final but this one against QPR went the distance after Anaisa Harney equalised for the Yella(women) and Brogan Moore then put them ahead before a late late equaliser from their opponents.

A report on the AUFC ladies facebook page described the penalty shoot-out with goalkeeper Ayse Flack (bottom row, centre in the main image above) the hero, saving a spot-kick after the shoot-out went to sudden death.

“And the final bit of action was for goalkeeper Ayse Flack to save the last penalty to win the cup which was a fitting way to end the game for Ayse as last season she missed both the League Cup and Surrey County Cup finals during the teams treble winning year after breaking her leg earlier in the season.”

Congratulations to everyone at Ascot United Ladies for a terrific triumph.
