It finished advantage Ascot United in the big derby game against Woodley United as we take a look at how each of our local clubs got on in the Southern Region Women’s Football League and Thames Valley Women’s Football League on Sunday.

Southern Region Women’s Football League

Premier Division: Bracknell Town Ladies were back in action at Larges Lane but suffered a 6-0 defeat to second placed Oxford City Ladies who went joint top of the league with the win.

The goals for City came from new signing Becca Howard, Nicole Miles and their were two each for Kiera Isaac and Rachel Mariam.

Division 1: In the Division 1 derby it was Ascot United who took the points courtesy of a 6-2 win at home to Woodley United. Rosie Page-Smith put the visitors in front on 15 minutes but Lucy Holzman-Clarke – who went on to hit a hat-trick in the second half – levelled things up six minutes later and Hannah Evans and Amy Woollard gave the Yellawomen a 3-1 half-time lead.

Georgia Bowers got herself on the scoresheet for the home side while Rebecca Lowes pulled one back for Woodley – Holzman-Clarke though had already dashed any hope of a comeback with second and third goals either side of that.

Division 2 South: It was a quiet afternoon in the TVCWFL Division 2 South as leaders Holyport stumbled again, beaten 3-0 at Taplow United while Sandhurst Town advanced in the cup thanks to a 3-0 win at Harefield United and goals from Jessica Loomes, Faye MacKreth and Shannon Mather.
