Alice Lilley scores twice in Wokingham & Emmbrook Ladies first ever competitive game

Alice Lilley scored twice on her senior debut as Wokingham & Emmbrook’s first ever competitive fixture finished with a 3-2 defeat at Barton Rovers in the Southern Region Women’s League Division 1 North.

Barton top the table after the win while second placed Woodley United beat Wargrave 2-0 thanks to goals from Mollie Haines and Rosie Page-Smith in the opening quarter of an hour.

In the SSE Women’s FA Cup it was the end of the road for Ascot United who were beaten 2-0 by Chesham United at the Racecourse Ground – steady progress for the Yellawomen though who were beaten 6-0 by the same opposition in the league a week earlier.

In the Thames Valley Counties Women’s League Division 2 East, Loren Cardy scored Binfield’s first competitive goal after only two minutes and youngster Dionne Hodges doubled the lead five minutes later against Woking.

The visitors though fought back and went in at the break at 2-2 before making things safe in the second half, winning 4-2.

Also in Division 2 East, Lou Pullen scored twice as Ascot United Reserves were beaten 5-2 at home to Harefield United.
