May Hamblin and Rosie Page-Smith were on target for Southern Region Women’s League Division 1  North side Woodley United as they knocked Premier Division Ascot United out of the Berks & Bucks County Cup on Sunday.

Page-Smith hit her brace before half time while Hamblin bagged hers in the second period – Gloria Bitria Burgues scored a late consolation for the Yellawomen.

The win for the Kestrels quickly banishes the previous Sunday’s FA Cup exit while Ascot can console themselves with the knowledge they top the Premier Division with a game in hand over second placed Newbury who lost 1-0 to Barton Rovers in the County Cup themselves.

ition after a 3-2 defeat at Wargrave. Sophie Mabbett and Caroline Paterson scored for the Sumas while Sian Blissett, Jodie Penny and Hannah Sheehan all scored for Wargrave.

In the Thames Valley Counties Women’s Football League Division 2 East Binfield beat bottom side Taplow Reds 4-0.

The Moles made hard work of the division’s strugglers who played the match with 10 players. Connie Wilson broke the deadlock before the break and scored her second after Nicky Edwards had been rewarded for a hard afternoon’s work on 80 minutes. The final goal though was the pick of the bunch, Amy Martin’s corner being headed home by youngster Dionne Hodges in the final minute.

Elsewhere goals from Shannon Mather (2) and Shellie Irvine weren’t enough for Sandhurst Town in a 4-3 defeat to Holyport while Ascot United Reserves were beaten 12-0 by Division 1 pacesetters Abingdon United in County Cup.
