Amy Woollard netted for Ascot United Ladies in one of the few women’s games to go ahead across the Southern Region Women’s Football League – due in no small part because it was played on an artificial surface.

It wasn’t enough though for the Yellawomen who after a great start to their first Premier Division season now haven’t won for four matches with the latest a 2-1 defeat at Oxford City.

It was Woollard’s second goal of the season but came with City already 2-0 up. United have a chance to reverse their recent run when they visit the side immediately above them in the table – Winchester City Flyers.

The other two fixtures of note saw Woodley United defeat Oxford City Nomads 3-0  to maintain their perfect record in the Jubilee Cup Group B from three games. Natasha Masters broke the deadlock on 43 minutes while Rosie Page-Smith and Mollie Haines made it safe in the second half.

In the same group Wargrave did their chances of reaching the knockout stages no harm with a 3-0 win at Alton. Millie Bilcliff scored twice  and Hannah Sheehan got the other goal.

There were no local Thames Valley Counties Women’s Football League fixtures that survived the weather.
